Painted over five weeks in a first-floor apartment on Doctor Lucio while the salvage crews worked below. The window faced north into a lightwell, so the light barely moved all day and I could keep the same hour for a month. The frame had been painted eleven times and stripped once; you can count six of those coats along the bottom rail. I left the weave showing at the right edge, which is where I ran out of afternoon on the last day.
Two panes gone, and the light arriving in one flat sheet.
